MiTransfer Pathways
MICU, in partnership with the Michigan Community College Association and Michigan Association of State Universities is working collaboratively to increase degree completion among transfer students. MiTransfer Pathways works to build multi-institutional transfer pathways. Additionally, MiTransfer Pathways is working on a statewide initiative to replace the Michigan Transfer Network (MTN).
Members who are currently participating in Phase I (Biology, Business Administration, Criminal Justice, Psychology) are: Alma College, Aquinas College, Baker College, Davenport University, Lawrence Technological University, Olivet College, Rochester College, University of Detroit Mercy, and Walsh College. If your institution is not listed and you offer a Phase I bachelor degree, please contact Shannon Price to learn more if you are interested in participating.
Next steps for Phase I participants are:
• Connect with MiTransfer Pathways Canvas Forum. All project participants have been added to a digital forum created on Canvas to facilitate communication and share project documentation. If you did not receive an email from Instructure Canvas and are a project participant, please contact Katie Giardello.
• Upload the draft worksheet of pathway courses to the Canvas Forum by September 28.
• Register for Phase I, Summit II on Friday October 19. Click here to self-register online before October 11. The Summit will be held at Adrian College.
Phase II MiTransfer Pathways are: Communications, Computer Information Systems, Mechanical Engineering, and Social Work. MICU will start communicating with members soon on Phase II meetings and information; however, we first need to confirm which members offer Phase II bachelor degree programs.
